Pigs in a Blanket

This is a great kids recipe.  It’s quick, it’s good and it’s hot.

And if you can get your kids to wash their hands, they can help!

Although, when I made it for lunch today, my 3 year old was a little confused and brought me a blanket from the couch.  Which was amazingly sweet of him to help 😉

What you need

  • 1 pack of hot dogs
  • 1 Grands Biscuits roll

I know this is so simple, it is almost unnecessary to include it; however, it is a great recipe that your kids will enjoy throughout their childhood and will pass on to their own kids.  I think multi-generational dishes have credit worth writing about, regardless of how complex or simple they are.

The thing I like most about this recipe is the ratio: there are 8 hot dogs in a pack, and there are 8 biscuits in the roll.  It’s a small thing, but this evenness makes me happy.  No biscuits left over, no hot dogs sitting lonely on the pan…just a perfect ratio between them.

So what you do is take a biscuit and stretch it on the palm of your clean hand.  Then place a hot dog in the middle and wrap it very tightly in the biscuit dough.

Cook at 400F for 12 minutes

Serve with kiddies and bundle them up before they go back outside to play!
