Garden Salad

So you’re thinking, do we really need a recipe for a garden salad?

I mean really.  It’s just lettuce and dressing.

My friend, I am going to give you the recipe which we use for our salads, and the recipe I have passed along to many friends of mine.  It is a simple recipe, but it is a fantastic recipe.  You will feel refreshed and delighted after this salad.  It is simply lovely.

  • You need:
  • Romaine lettuce
  • tomatoes
  • dried cranberries
  • celery
  • feta cheese
  • olive oil
  • balsamic vinegar
  • kosher salt
  • ground black pepper
  • garlic powder

Toss It!

After you have washed the lettuce, chop it up and throw it all into a large bowl

Now take the olive oil and drizzle it atop the leaves and toss until the leaves lightly glisten

Then sprinkle the salt, pepper and a teeny bit of garlic powder on top

Add the dried cranberries, chopped tomatoes and thinly sliced celery

Toss lightly, and then pour on the balsamic vinegar.  I will admit, I kind of go overboard on this.

Toss again, and sprinkle the feta on top.

The flavors involved here are so lovely, so simple and so fresh.  They compliment each other both in taste and texture.

Addends:

If you wanted, you could add the following

  • croutons
  • mandarin oranges
  • candied walnuts
  • sliced almonds
  • marshmallows….nah, I’m kidding.  That’s another recipe 😉
